The Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is a national program that promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level (9-12). Each year, students are selected to compete at smaller regional meetings, with the chance to advance to a national symposium.
Wyoming and eastern Colorado (Front Range and east) represent CAST's local JSHS region. The JSHS provides one more opportunity for students to share their work orally with the opportunity to win scholarship money for college at both the regional and national level. In fact, Wyoming/Eastern Colorado region has had a number of national winners in the past several years. Encourage your students to submit their research for possible participation in the regional symposium to be held on March 28, 2014 in Laramie, Wyoming.
All information about deadlines and our symposium can be found at http://www.uwyo.edu/lifescience/jshs/.
To be accepted: Students must submit a paper describing the science project the student wishes to present by Friday, March 1, 2014.
