This Boulder-based program is ultimately means to an end; the ultimate intent to have its participants contribute to averting the looming planetary ecological crisis. In participation of eminent experts and professors from around the world, Trailblazers Training & Screening Program is going to be a combination of total nature immersion, rigorous academic studies, character-building experiences, and the honing of one’s thinking and orga- nizational skills.
The participants will undergo a highly rigorous study of a wide array of topics related to sustainability, economics, and international relations. They will be coached in eﬀective campaign strategies, eﬀective decision and organizational skills, and social media outreach. They will undergo intensive permaculture course. They will go on an expedition to the Amazon basin and Andes, immersing themselves in the local culture. They will be trained by ex Special Forces people to build up inner strength and fortitude.
The training program itself is 12 months long. This is followed by another 12 months of actual ﬁeldwork. During the second year, the young adults will break up to task teams and develop an array of technological, logistical, economic, and political mitigation measures, generating income along the way. Concurrently, they will reach out and enlist numerous NGOs, experts, and the public at large to ﬂ esh out those measures and have those task teams morph into becoming the seeds of a worldwide change.
The participation cost is $13,800 for the year. There are no fees involved with the additional 12 months of development following the yearlong training program. The month-long overseas expedition requires an additional $6,000 cost per trainee (airfare included), which is not included in the base cost of the program and is planned to be generated via fund raising.
